  • James Wentzel

    DVM

    Dr. Wentzel is the Medical Director at California Oaks Animal Hospital. He has been with Cal Oaks since 2005. His areas of interest are internal medicine, surgery, dermatology, and preventative medicine. He has extended interest in abdominal ultrasound and in surgical correction of stifle (knee) injuries, including cruciate injury and luxating patella. Prior to joining COVH in 2005, Dr. Wentzel served for 10 years as a staff veterinarian in a small animal practice in Wisconsin. Dr. Wentzel earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1995. Dr. Wentzel and his wife, Karen, have a son and a daughter. Their family is rounded out with a Boxer named Todd and a Boston Terrier, named Willie.

  • Marianne Yale

    DVM

    Dr. Yale obtained her undergraduate and veterinary degrees from the University of California, Davis. She then completed a one year veterinary internship with California Veterinary Specialists, a local veterinary specialty and emergency hospital. Dr. Yale enjoys working with a non-profit mission group called Vetmerge that provides international veterinary care to areas for which there is limited access. With this group, she has traveled to countries in Africa, Mexico, and various areas of the United States. She lives with her husband, two cats, and spirited young dog!.

  • Laura Laxineta

    DVM

    Dr. Laura Laxineta is a 1983 graduate from the University of California at Davis Veterinary School. She is married to Marc, a local equine veterinarian. The Laxineta family moved to Murrieta area in 1985 where they raised their 3 children. Her middle daughter is in Veterinary School at UC Davis. In her free time, Dr. Laxineta likes gardening and watercolor painting. She also loves to travel and scuba dive.
